Schoolgirl accidentally hanged herself in ‘Goth fainting ritual’

0 Comments | Western Morning News, The, Sep 2, 2010 | by WMN REPORTER

A bullied “emo” schoolgirl accidentally hanged herself after experimenting with a new “crossing over” fainting technique to be “reborn into a new life”, an inquest heard yesterday.

Sian Jones, 13, used a “goth” website to research the bizarre ritual of using asphyxiation to get rid of personal problems.

The new craze urges people in difficulty to make themselves faint and awaken a new and happier person.

Sian – whose family claims she was being bullied at school – copied the technique by tying a red dog leash round her neck. She then slammed the door shut and the collar choked her but instead of fainting she collapsed and never regained consciousness. Sian, of Plymouth, Devon, was found by her mother hanging from the door and was rushed to hospital but died of her injuries.

An inquest heard police found websites on her computer describing the “crossing over” fainting technique.

She had spent the evening looking at the internet and also made notes in her diary about how to make herself unconscious.

Inspector Barry Walter told the inquest in Plymouth, Devon: “She was described as a goth or an emo and was a well-liked girl.

“Notes were found which described techniques for fainting as a way of leaving an old life behind and waking reborn with no more problems.

“There were no suicidal references.

She had also been on a website that night which described the same thing.

“Earlier in the evening, she had filmed herself dancing around the flat to music and had changed her Facebook profile picture. This suggests that she was not suicidal but her death was an accident.”

Sian was found hanged from a door handle on June 22 this year in a flat she shared with her mother and sister Adele.

Family friend Ian Wilson said that Sian had been the victim of bullying and that even since her death there have been threatening posts made on internet sites.

He told the inquest in Plymouth: “Sian was the subject of bullying at school and had contacted teachers to tell them she was unhappy.

“Even after she died Facebook comments were left which were threatening and derogatory

Help bring in smoking law

0 Comments | South Wales Evening Post, Aug 19, 2010

The Government has just announced it may not implement a new law to scrap cigarette vending machines and tobacco displays in shops.

We know vending machines are an easy source of cigarettes for children.

With 40 per cent of adult smokers, it’s clear we need to do much more to stop our children taking up this deadly habit.

That’s why I, along with thousands of others, am supporting the British Heart Foundation’s campaign to ensure the Government implements this law to protect our children from the dangers of smoking.

6. Evaluations from past speaking engagements – how are the evaluations from attendees coming back?

7. Client testimonials – are clients sending testimonials following speaking engagements and is the speaker being booked again by the hosting company or attendees?

8. Topics – are the speakers topics more general in nature?

a. Are the speaker?s topics more specific and well framed?

b. Is the speaker using the platform as a marketing opportunity (to market themselves and their products) ?

c. Are they using the platform to deliver a presentation that is thought provoking and provides take away value?

9. Credentials can play a big part in what people are able to get for speaking.

You will get to see things clearly.

Saturday, 09 September 2010

You will get to see things clearly. Any obstacles have become an opportunity to you. People feel depressed, or unhappy, most of the time is because that they focus too much attention onto the problems they have, and forget that they have many wonderful things happening in their lives. Be grateful to the love you received from your family, your friends, and your colleges. Thank them in some way. Treat them a meal, buy them a gift, or just give them a word of greeting, or just give them a prayer in your heart. Be grateful to yourself, to your body. Say thanks to your feet for supporting you for so long time, say thanks to your eyes for letting you see the beauty of this world, say thank to your ears for giving you the beautiful sounds of the universe. Say thank you to every part of your body. Thank the universe for all the blessings it gives you, and all the blessing you are receiving. Be grateful for everything you have now, and you shall receive much more.

Technique No 4: The secret of giving What you give you shall receive! You can see many evidences that show you this is absolutely true.

Saturday, 09 September 2010

A crowd swamped the area around the Superdome forming a huge human sea, creating a horrible traffic jam, but everyone wanted to be there for their team?s return. It meant so much more than a football game, it meant hope had come back, it meant that they were back to being a normal city, it was a ray of light in a year filled with disaster and disappointment, they just needed something else to think about.

In a very loud return to their brand new rebuilt stadium, the Saints gave the Big Easy something to cheer about. That day they were just an undefeated football team that made it look like it was a peace of cake to with a 23-3 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night. But even with its shiny new cover, in the bottom of many hearts the New Orleans Saints Superdome remained a symbol of Katrina’s misery.

Just 90 seconds into the game that the New Orleans Saints flopped on a ball in the end zone and from then on the party was on.

The positive and negative

Saturday, 09 September 2010

The positive and negative forces are called yin and
yang. When they are balanced, all is well, but when one
achieves dominance, the imbalanced influence can be
harmful.

Yin and yang are opposing but interdependent. For example,
without the idea of softness, we wouldn’t be able to really
understand hardness. High and low, still and moving, heat
and cold are further examples of yin and yang forces.

At their extremes these opposites can change into the
other: ice can burn, and sunstroke victims shiver. The
object is to balance the opposites.

A second principle of spaces that feel right is the idea
of Chi. Chi doesn’t have a western equivalent, but loosely
can be translated as the life force of animate things, the
power of the sun and weather, the quality of the inanimate
or of the environment. In short, the energy.

When Chi is blocked in our bodies, acupuncture is used to
help it flow and restore health.

One of the tools often

Saturday, 09 September 2010

One of the tools often used for gathering evidence is the fuel vapor detector, which can detect trace amounts of propellant in parts per million (ppm) concentrations. Even though the fire has seemingly consumed everything, the fuel vapor detector can “see” evidence which is invisible to the eye.

How Does a Fuel Vapor Detector Work?

The Combustible Sensor consists of two coils of fine platinum wire each embedded in a bead of alumina, connected electrically in a bridge circuit. One of the beads is impregnated with a special catalyst which promotes oxidation and the other is treated to inhibit oxidation. Current is passed through the coils so that they reach a temperature at which oxidation of a gas readily occurs at the catalyzed bead (about 500?C). This raises the temperature further which increases the resistance of the platinum coil in the catalyzed bead, leading to an imbalance of the bridge. This output change is linear, for most gases, up to and beyond 100% LEL and response time is only a few seconds to detect alarm levels (typically 20% LEL).

I think the tree was good, because it had yellow striped leaves that very contrast plus red flowers. I thought it will attract so many people to buy.

When we were talking, he mentioned about Ficus Glomerata Variegata whose fertile was not good. I was interested to know more because I was interested in collecting rare plants especially that could be created as bonsai. When I saw the plant, it was only planted in polybag using unhulled paddy (paddy plants /rice that are hulled and then separated from the stalks) as media. It was put in the middle of higher trees, so there was possibility watering process could not be completed.

That is, over 90%

Saturday, 09 September 2010

That is, over 90% of the
human DNA is dormant and silent and that these silent
engines (Introns or silent genes) have yet to be expressed. Moreover, of the ?3% of genes required to build a human
being, 20% of that is used to create the brain, and another
30% of that DNA is expressed in the process of running and
maintaining the brain (Joseph 2002) Author R. Joseph,
writing in NeuroTheology, comes to this possible inference:
“. 50% of the 3% of DNA, which is coded, serves the human
brain. Hence, since 97% of the 30,000 to 40,000 or more
genes (and their 3 billion or more base pairs) that make up
the human genome are repressed, up to 50% of that and
thus perhaps as many as 25,000 repressed genes and
over a billion base pairs of nucleotides may be available for
future cerebral metamorphosis and expansion of the brain.”
(Joseph 2002).

That is ?food for thought!? Since the evidence clearly shows
that the differing uses of the brain lead to structural and
functional differences in the ever developing (evolving) brain,
is it possible that one may just find that persistent mind
training leads one little step at a time to a virtual Quantum
leap?a sudden flash of new mind so different and
advanced that a search for words comes up without
